Students’ Ethics

Our Expectations

Global Institute of Theology prepares students to serve the Lord, the Church and the community. In so doing, it is our goal to inspire Christian values in all of our students, even beyond the academic objectives. Consequently, we expect our students to apply in their everyday lives the values they learn from their studies. In the broader sense, we expect all students to demonstrate Christian values, that is the fruit of the Spirit, as they study, interact with other students and GIT staff, and their community. Concerning administration, we expect our students to respect their instructors and staff. One way of showing this is to carry out instructions as they are given to you. We want to give you the best educational experience as possible, but we would need your cooperation. The administration when necessary will give you instructions, mainly for GIT to abide with the licensing agreement and our quality assurance policies.

Your Privilege

Studying with Global University is voluntary, but also a privilege. The integrity of the School worldwide speaks of the integrity of its leaders, its 200 representative offices, and primarily its students. Consequently, once students enroll with GIT, they become part of this great school and become responsible to uphold the Name of Christ and honor the reputation of GIT in Malta and Global University worldwide.

Your Duty

We expect that you students will be ambassadors of righteousness. This is extended to its limits, which includes abiding by the laws of the country. Consequently, GIT students are morally and ethically motivated to become better citizens of the land and of the kingdom of God.

Academic Integrity

Concerning their studies, GIT students are expected to present honest work. Attempting to earn credits from GIT by cheating violates both the tenets of righteousness and Maltese law. Cheating includes academic misconduct, such as plagiarism, fabrication and/or assisting others to do the same. Therefore, academic honesty is expected as essential to a student of integrity. The following list is a guide to help the students understand what is expected of them.

Your Commitment

 Commitment to Excellence - “I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord...This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind...I press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus...” (Philippians 3:8,13,14).  Faithfulness - To God I give my life in worship and service in all that I am and have. I will seek first the kingdom of God.  Unselfishness - For others I will gladly share and serve as God has so graciously provided for me.  Truthfulness - To myself and to all others I shall be honest and truthful with fairness, giving dignity to every person I meet.  Thoroughness - In all I undertake to do I shall attempt to be complete and thorough, striving always for excellence.  Neatness - The quality of my life and work will also reflect beauty in the things I achieve.  Promptness - Knowing that by being prompt I am conserving the time of others as well as keeping myself on schedule, I shall attempt to be prompt in keeping promises.  Perseverance - Steadfastly pursuing the goals God reveals to me as appropriate for my life, my abilities, and my calling – this will be my constant aim.

Your Pastor is your Shepherd

The goal of our studies is to transform students into the image of Christ. However, completing courses does not automatically create that Image. The discipline of study, aids students to facilitate discipleship in addition to increasing their knowledge of One whose image is their primary objective. Teachers can advise and guide students into the walk of the Lord. However, these will not replace the pastor/s of the church. These pastoral church leaders are those who will give account to God for the students’ souls. We wish our students a meaningful learning experience and close walk with God.
