Admission to Global Institute of Theology
To apply to any Global Institute of Theology degree or certificate programs, an interview must
be conducted with the head of school or study group leader approved by GIT. After this
interview, the student may be asked to take a proficiency test. In the case of undergraduate
degrees, a pretest is obligatory. While in the graduate degrees, a proficiency essay, a
biographical essay and two recommendations, one each by an employer and pastor are
needed.
Once this is completed, a program will need to be selected and an application must be
submitted.
After students have been admitted into the program, they will receive a student number and
log-in information for their class. Students can pick up their course materials within 5
business days. However, digital files will become downloadable as soon as GU registers the
students. Registration fees and course fees will be required when picking up materials for the
class, or after the course application is submitted. Payment can be made by check or online
banking. Bank receipt can be sent by email or post.
When a class has been started, the student has six months to complete the class. For a small
fee, an extension can be granted for an additional six months.
The purpose of the interview is to assess the students prior learning and their educational
goal in ministry.
The application and admission criteria and processes are clearly articulated in Global
University’s academic catalogs and on its website. These procedures and criteria are followed
consistently and with great care.
Non Partiality Principle
Global Institute of Theology is a student centered institution. In fact, one of internal quality
assurance standards requires that we do not show partiality to any student regarding race,
color, and religion among other things. Consequently, concerning the educational
requirements of students studying with GIT, students are not under the jurisdiction of any
church or denomination, nor does GIT apply any admission requirements related to religious
affiliation or creed. Global University’s faculty appoints mentors, graders, to the course of
studies of their students. In some cases, the students choose their mentors according to their
program prospectus.
Students’ Identity
Students, with no partiality, are to present with their application identification papers, such
as copies of passports or Identity cards. This is important for GIT to have evidence that
students are identified according to legal documents. GIT is a distance learning institution.
Consequently, whether students are local or international, we will need to be assured that
students enrolled with GIT are the same taking exams. It is a way of how the proctors can
verify the identity of the student. Furthermore, will be able to meet the standards of the
NCFHE our accreditation body.
