Modes of study in Malta.

Global Institute of Theology is a growing school. Therefore, we do not have the facilities the man power to hold full time classroom studies. However, since our courses are designed for distance and online learning, students that want to study in Malta need to know that they can study at their place of residence. However, for every one (1) EQF/MQF credit, they will need to meet with a tutor for five hours. This is explained in the following Chart:

ONE EQF/MQF CREDIT HOUR = 25 HOURS OF WORKLOAD

EQF: European Credit Framework MQF: European Credit Framework In line with European tools, all education pegged to the MQF is quantified in worklaod hours known as “credits.” Workload can be defined to 25 hours of learning (consisting of a minimum of 5 hours of direct contact teaching hours; practical sessions; mentoring; self-study; such as reading, research, seminars, conferences, tutorials, assignments and assessments; and related organised activities, such as informal and non-formal learning). Thus both ECTS and ECVET are subject to the same quality standards and have equal value.

Non Partiality Principle

Global Institute of Theology is a student centered institution. In fact, one of internal quality assurance standards requires that we do not show partiality to any student regarding race, color, and religion among other things. Consequently, concerning the educational requirements of students studying with GIT, students are not under the jurisdiction of any church or denomination, nor does GIT apply any admission requirements related to religious affiliation or creed. Global University’s faculty appoints mentors, graders, to the course of studies of their students. In some cases, the students choose their mentors according to their program prospectus.

Students’ Identity

Students, with no partiality, are to present with their application identification papers, such as copies of passports or Identity cards. This is important for GIT to have evidence that students are identified according to legal documents. GIT is a distance learning institution. Consequently, whether students are local or international, we will need to be assured that students enrolled with GIT are the same taking exams. It is a way of how the proctors can verify the identity of the student. Furthermore, will be able to meet the standards of the NCFHE our accreditation body. See Student Application Procedures
