We understand that intolerance and discrimination is a legal matter in many countries that protect the rights of minorities, and several subcultures and people groups within society. As Christians, we are to abide by the law of the land as long as the law does not contradict our Christian values. Nevertheless, the foundation against intolerance or discrimination to both students and staff is based on the Bible. The references are many; however, we quote just a few passages that describe the principle. Deuteronomy 10:17 - For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.Ephesians 2:14 - For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility.1 John 2:2 - He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.James 2:8,9 - If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.Galatians 3:26-29 - So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. GU publishes in its academic catalog its Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy, which reads: Global University employs, advances, admits, and treats, both in its employment and its educational programs, all persons without regard to their race, color, national or ethnic origin, gender, age, handicap, or status as a veteran. https://www.globaluniversity.edu/PDF/catalogSED.pdfAny real or perceived violation of this policy can be addressed by stakeholders through the GU grievance procedures, which include filing a complaint with GU’s USA accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission.
